Wine and Altitude

In today’s post we want to accomplish two things:  the first is to introduce you to one of our favorite bloggers—one of those outliers who is irreverent and funny but, most of all, a good writer.  The second is to link you to one of his recent posts that talks about airline wine and the effect of altitude on the taste of wine.  Or more specifically how altitude dumbs down your taste buds.  Those airlines that give a s—t about serving the good stuff to their first and business class passengers (forget coach) hire experienced sommeliers who search out wines that may not win any prizes at sea level but which work well at 35,000 feet.  Read on…
